Cooking In A Disaster - Raquel Andelin
Passionate about food and cooking, Raquel Andelin began experimenting in the kitchen at an early age. By age 12, she had filled a notebook with her own 'tried and true' recipes. Along with cooking, she enjoys playing the piano and cello and has participated in various orchestras. Raquel received her degree in Social Work and Spanish from Brigham Young University. She is currently supporting her husband in law school. During college she cultivated a love for learning that surprisingly found its way into the kitchen. Raquel became convinced of the importance of emergency preparedness through community and church involvement. A self-motivated learner, Raquel taught herself to cook with powdered eggs, powdered milk, beans, wheat and other food storage items. Her latest culinary adventure is cooking without fuel. Raquel’s flair in the kitchen is put to the test every day in the demanding job of wife and mother as she cares for two active boys and a hungry husband.
